A month long blog event hosted by
Since I've always read across genres, one of my goals this year was not to add genres but to expand my reading to include new (to me) formats.
To that end I started exploring graphical formats, some audio, and increased my Online reading.
I didn't get far with the audio--it just didn't work for me--but I read some good things in graphic format.
But the big thing was what I did online, including starting this blog, following a number of bookish blogs, participating in some online discussions, and (after a long period of avoiding social media) signing up with Twitter and Goodreads. I also tried Riffle (meh) and refreshed my LibraryThing account to include books (formerly used only to keep track of music CDs).
And I began posting brief reviews, did a couple of read-a-thons, a couple of challenges, and some read-alongs.
And I kind of went crazy with acquisitions through giveaways and subscriptions to independent presses.
It's been a busy year, but the only stat I can post today is that I read over 200 books.
More about all of this as we progress through the month.
